Adequate standard of living
'Children have the right to a standard of living that is good enough to meet their physical and mental needs. Governments should help families and guardians who cannot afford to provide this, particularly with regard to food, clothing and housing.
We asked children and staff to come into school dressed in red to support 'Red Nose Day' and donate £1 to the charity. The school council also sold red noses and wristbands at break time.
During walk to school week we took part in the Happy Shoesday event. We raised £221.72 to support Living Streets walking project, by donating £1 to wear our favourite pair of shoes for the day. Some children also got creative and decorated them to their own individual styles. Strider the mascot from Living Streets came along too. He gave out badges to children who had walked to school.
We also donated our unwanted shoes to children and adults in rural Africa with Africa's Gift Charity.
