At Queensmead we both support and encourage parents to feel involved and informed about their child’s education. We feel that there should be a healthy partnership between home and school with children at the centre of everything we do.

We aim to provide a warm and welcoming environment for our families so that parents feel able to approach school with any issues, concerns or comments and feel both welcome and comfortable on site.

Parents are contacted by newsletter , class newsletter or individually by staff to request support or offer opportunities to get involved.

• Support with school visits

• Support with activities within the curriculum

• Support with fund raising events

Termly Parent events are held in each class – parents are invited to share and celebrate their child’s successes and take part in activities.

We also support parents who want to gain experience in a school setting by volunteering their time to support in class.

How will Queensmead support parents, including helping them contribute to their child’s learning?

Parents are encouraged to support their child with their weekly homework, this includes the homework menu, daily reading and TTRS. Class teachers will send out further details each half term, via their curriculum letters.

We have a full programme of parent events to experience workshops, ‘stay and play’ sessions and other opportunities to gain greater understanding of their child’s learning and how to support progress.

How will Queensmead review and update the parental engagement strategy?

This strategy will be reviewed and updated annually and discussed with the Academy’s Parent Ambassadors.
