Anti- Bullying Week - Odd Socks Day

This year as part of Anti-Bullying week we took part in odd socks day. Children and staff came into school wearing odd socks for the day to celebrate that we are all unique. What a fantastic range of odd socks!

BBC Children in Need

This year we raised an amazing £354.58 for BBC Children In Need. We asked everyone to donate £1 and come into school dressed in their pyjamas. We are hoping to raise even more next year!

Red Nose Day

As a school, we really enjoy taking part in this fun-filled and worthy annual event. Children and staff are asked to come into school dressed in red to support 'Red Nose Day' and donate £1 to the charity. This year we raised a huge £322.36.

Save the Children - Christmas Jumper Day

Each year we ask children and staff to come into school wearing a Christmas jumper to support 'Save the Children'. We ask for a donation of £1 for the charity. In 2022 we raised £205.50.

Happy Shoesday

During walk to school week we took part in the Happy Shoesday event. We raised £138 to support Living Streets walking project, by donating £1 to wear our favourite pair of shoes for the day. Some children also got creative and decorated them to their own individual styles. Strider the mascot from Living Streets came along to our celebration assembly to launch the walk to school week and Happy Shoesday.

We held a competition for the happiest shoes in each class, prizes were awarded in the Honours Assembly at the end of walk to school week.

We also donated our unwanted shoes to children and adults in rural Africa with Africa's Gift Charity.

RSPCA Donation

3 members of the Year 6 Eventerprise team visited the RSPCA Woodside  Centre to hand over an incredible £418 donation which was raised by making and selling cakes at a cake sale as well as holding an non-uniform day. The RSPCA centre were delighted at the donation and gave pupils a tour of the Centre where they met dogs and cats waiting to be rehomed as well as hearing about how the RSPCA help animals who have been subject to cruelty.

'Atlas the puppy was really cute and I liked finding out more about the work that the RSPCA do'

'I want to be a vet when I'm older- seeing round the centre was a great experience'
